I LOVE pizza! I especially love making pizza! I can make it anyway I want to and it takes less time than delivery because I always have some pizza dough in my freezer or fridge. It’s easy to make and you can even make it healthy! I usually love homemade pizza because it’s less greasy and you know what’s going into it. Besides you can have fun with it!

For the crust:
One medium sized bowl
1.5 cup flour
1.5 tsp or a packet of instant yeast
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp sugar
1/2 cup warm water (110 degrees)
Drizzle of oil

Makes a medium pizza that can feed 2 – 3 people.

I make my dough using one bowl. It saves me from washing a million dishes which makes me a happy camper. So anytime I can make a meal without using more than 1 or 2 utensils for the preparation, I get very excited!

In your one bowl, pour in your yeast, sugar, and warm water. Since it is instant yeast, you don’t have to wait for it to activate.

Sift or pour in your flour and salt. Mix together and turn over to a clean surface. You shouldn’t need additional flour because there will probably be some flour left in the bowl. Knead until well incorporated.

Preheat your oven to 170 or the proof setting if available.

Drizzle a small amount of oil(1/4 tsp) in the bowl you were using initially, place the dough in the oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a towel.

Turn oven off and keep oven door open for about 2 minutes so it’s not hot.

Place the bowl in the oven for about an hour to rise (should double in size).

You can stop here and when the dough doubles, you can store it in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for about 3 months.

Or you could go ahead and complete your pizza! Here’s where you can go crazy! Get some white sauce or some marinara, or if you’re like me, some barbecue sauce or even go sauceless and use a pesto or infused olive oil but then you don’t get that saucy deliciousness associated with a typical pizza. You can also play around with toppings! Get some sausage, chicken, bacon, spinach, all kinds of cheeses, use your imagination!

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Stretch the dough by pushing it outward from the center, if you like a thick crust at the outer ends. Or roll it with a rolling pin for an even layered thin crust pizza.

I topped mine with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni.

Bake for 12 – 18 minutes depending on oven temperature and how crunchy you like the crust. I usually bake mine for 15 minutes.
